Default 2012 JK Sahara NAV unit

I have the factory Uconnect NAV unit for the 2012 JKU Sahara. I'm having some issues with the unit i hope hope someone can shed some light on. First off the night and day mode screen dimmer does not work. At night the screen does not dim causing blindness. So i have to manually change it to night time. The auto mode doesn't work. When i have my tube doors installed, sometimes the unit takes a while to power off. Like sometimes even up to 5 mins. Anyone else have these issues?

Try using the dimmer switch on the blinker stick (left side of steering column) it's the same switch that turns on the interior dome light, rotate it down at night to dim the radio/gps screen.

You may have to change the settings in the radio to use gps time to get the auto dimmer on the nav to work if I remember correctly. That way it knows where you are and when to switch between night and day modes. Also, as for the tube doors, you can change the radio off settings in the personal settings menu. I do not remember what the default is, it may be 5 minutes, but you can change it from 0 seconds to five minutes radio auto off time. However, it doesn't shut off when the door harness is disconnected. As they are with tube doors on.

This worked for me thanks bud. The dimmer switch was set to high i believe so one click down was all it needed to dim the radio at night time. Now i don't have to keep turning it to night mode at night time. Thanks guys.
