2015 Rubicon Unlimited Speaker Modification
Hello everyone, new to the forum.
I currently have a 2012 Unlimited Sport, but I plan to trade it in for a 2015 Rubicon very soon. When I bought the 2012 it did not have the premium sound package; I bought the stock box, aftermarket amp, and had it wired in by a local shop. The 2015 Rubicon I am supposed to be getting does not have the Premium speakers.
My question is if the 2012 stock sub will fit into the rear interior of the Rubicon and if the plane plastic panel from the Rubicon will fit into the Sport to replace the panel for trade in. I do not still have the stock panel from my sport.
Also, I am open to other audio suggestions or ideas.
Thanks,
DP

Nope, completely different. The new sub is an 8x12, and built into the floor of the cargo area. Honestly, this new sub sounds better than the previous one. You could probably fab some brackets to make the old sub work though.
Sorry if I wasn't being clear. I was asking about the whole enclosure. The box with the power port that fits in the back corner. Could that whole speaker / enclosure from the 2012 fit in the 2015.
I emailed Mophar and they said that they were unable to determine cross compatibility.
Thanks

I would seriously consider getting the Alpine system on the '15. if not, the base speakers sound terrible and will need to be replaced as well. You could probably fabricate a bracket and use the sub from the '12, but the new sub sounds better, and you could easily sell your current sub.
