it shouldve been up to the Seller to properly Transit lock the unit before shipping it... they should give you your money back as it is negligence on their part to not Lock it..

To the seller's credit, he gave me 50 bucks back. I accepted it - as I don't know it's all his fault. Even transportation lock may not have prevented what happened. I'm just going to write it off at this point and hopefully find another unit later.

Hey guys.....I am about to sell my 6 disc to someone (I dont actually have a buyer yet) and was wondering, how do you lock the unit so that it doesnt get damaged during transport?

PS it has sirius

 

From the FSM:

NOTE: For REQ and RET radios, turn ignition to RUN and press the SET + SCAN buttons simultaneously to place the radio into transportation mode. The radio will display "Transportation" on the display within 5 seconds. If the radio is inoperative or not REQ/RET, skip this step.

It doesn't give a corresponding unlock procedure, so I'm assuming either you do the same thing after installation, or it unlocks itself automatically upon initial power up.

Is there an FAQ we can add this info too? This is the second 6 disc someone bought in a short time that's had problems.
