aftermarket fog lights

Default aftermarket fog lights

can i use the stock fog light switch/wires to a aftermarket fog light set (6" kc fog lights)? i was told the stock wire are crap and i should run new wires and switch. i would like to keep the stock switch.

The only safe way would be, as already stated , to add a relay. Create a separte 15-20 amp fused circuit through the relay. Cut into the existing fog wiring to trigger the relay.
(through the existing column switch)
That should prevent overloading the existing circuitry. Knowing Chrysler, it is possible that there could be something else already with the factory fogs circuit.
When I added the hood lights, I used the high beam switch to trigger the relay and added a separate 20 amp fused circuit to prevent adding a additional switch to the dash.

Any luck with the install. I am wanting to wire up my 85W Piaa fogs and still use my stock fog switch. Just wanted to check and see how it worked out.

This link has a ton of relay wiring diagrams, just put the www in front after copying and pasting it into the address bar and you will have lots of choices.
