Recently purchased Hooke LED Taillights from Amazon. Product description says no drilling required. However the light connectors come with a hyperflash resistor wired into the plug. Don't know if my 07' JK needs the hyperflash or not as it is already wired in I can't find out with removing and resplicing the plug. Hooke says nothing helpful other than no drilling required plug n play and some need the resistor some don't. From what I've read if the resistor is not mounted to the side of the vehicle for heat dissapation, it could melt wires or cause a fire worst case.The lights are rated at 12 volts. Do I need to mount them or leave them as is. Thanks

Why not just mount it since it's already there? How big/heavy is the resistor? There must be other ways to mount it up inside the body without drilling anything.

 

Not very customer supportive.. I know what I'd do.. Amazon Free Returns. Look at other brands; i.e. Oracle to name 1.
