Default Aftermarket tweeter with crossover

After reading several people say that the addition of better tweeters greatly improved the sound in their Jeeps, I have decided to swap mine out. One quick question though; do I need to use the crossovers that come with the speakers? I am pretty sure that I will go with the Infiniti 1031t, just not sure if I need to use the crossovers that come with them. I have the infinity system now and I'm pretty sure that the Infiniti amp takes care of that already. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have polk DBs and i used the included polk x-over only on the tweeters only. when you remove the old tweeters, there is a tab sticking out on one side of the wire harness, that is the positive lead. i used it since the x-over had a gain on it. better volume in my opinion.

I have the same tweeters and yes I recommend you use the crossovers supplied with the tweeters, these are not bulky and very easy to attach.

^^ but do you also have the infinity amp? I have the same tweets with the amp and i cut the crossovers out. Works great sounds good. In my opinion the included filters made the speakers sound muddled.

Yes I do. The crossovers will only limit the base from the tweeters, it will not effect the highs. If you have no crossover you will damage your tweeters.

The signals are already crossed over in the amp.

Thanks to all that responded! I ordered the tweeters yesterday and hopefully will have them delivered and installed this weekend. Looks like their is some confusion on whether the crossovers are needed or not, so I will hook one up with and one without and see if their is any noticable difference in sound quality.

2 options.

1 cut out the stock hole with a dremel 2 make the db's fit with the included cup.

2 use the other included cup and put 3 daps of superglue on the back of it and hold it in place until it dries
