May be the clock spring is bad. There have been problems with earlier years model. Not sure about a airbag going off on it's own but shit happens. Get it checked.

Thank you for this post!!!! My airbag light has been on and chiming for 2 days now. I went outside and checked my passenger seat. I ran it forward and back in the track making sure it locked in place when it stopped. I started the Jeep and the light is now out and it has not come back. Thanks again!!!
