Default Alpine PDX-V9 in dash of '11 2-door

Anyone have the PDX-V9 in the dash, under the steering column? It looks like it will fit, but how did you mount it?

Any problems with the amp causing interference with other electronics?

Thanks,

Brent

My Arc Audio amp is 11.6" deep, 5.5" wide and 1.75" tall and fits fine, even with that depth. I cut a bracket out of sheet metal the size of the amp and attached it to the steel crossmember with three screws. The amp sits on top. See the black vertical bracket just to the left of the amp? That can be removed to give you more width if needed. Also, when you install, it is much easier if you have the left speaker pod out of the dash and the lower dash trim unscrewed so you have not room to reach up under there.

You don't have to worry about the amp interfering with other electronics.

I took out the speaker pod and the left bracket and was able to fit the amplifier into the position. Just need to figure out a way to support the amplifier. probably mount to a sheet of aluminum and use some wire to support the back end. I think i'll have all my wires connected on the right side.

Maybe I should have bought a smaller amp.

Thanks for the pic.

That PDX is a great amp, you won't be sorry. The aluminum will work fine. Just cut it about 3/4" longer than the length of the amp. I used three screws on the front edge down into that horizontal metal cross member. The back will bounce a little, but I used large zip ties to hold it secure.
