Default Alpine X009-WRA

Has anyone seen information on the new Alpine Restyle kit? I think it is suppose to ship in March. It allows installation of a 9" screen that is a direct replacement for the factory unit. The only place I have seen any inform is on the car stereo chicks webpage. She did a short video when she was at CEDIA. I expect it to cost $2000 - $3000 but it should give a factory look. It also should have the Maestro unit to retain all the factory controls. I don't really want to spend that much on a head unit but I want to keep the jeep as stock looking especially when I have the doors off.

This is a pretty sweet looking setup. I just did an upgrade to the pioneer AVH-4000 NEX. It is looks subtle for aftermarket, but it's the only one in the lineup with a fully removable face. I had the same concern as you which is why I like the faceplate option. Just throwing this out there, but for the price of the alpine, you could literally have a stereo like the pioneer stolen 5-6 times. Not sure if there's something else that makes it worth 3k.

So did you buy the Apline? You have to post pics if you did.

I also have the Pioneer 4000NEX and like it quite a bit. There are a few little issues with the Apple CarPlay that need ironed out: Toggle to and from the radio is not very elegant; the background cover art when playing a song from the iPhone is very dark (you can change the brightness and contrast settings, but it effects the user interface and washes it out if you turn the brightness up too high); I'd like to see a separate button for iTunes Radio on the main screen instead of buying in the Music button; etc.

Good sounding unit overall, really flexible audio adjustments (auto EQ, time alignment, fine tuning for the eq, etc) excellent unit because of the removable face since I leave my top off all summer and often leave it parked while in malls (haha).

I love the fact that alpine came out with this radio and it looks fantastic. I just don't like that fact that it gets stolen and you're out that amount of money. With that being said I would not trust it being in your jeep with the top and doors off. Until tuffy comes out with a Flip-n-lock system for the newer dash like they did for the 07-11 I think it'll be hard to have that peace of mind that so many people go for when they get a single din with detachable face plate or even like the one stated earlier. For someone that keeps their doors and hard top on that would probably be perfect but just because it looks stock with the doors on doesn't mean some ones gonna get curious and discover that radio is worth that much. Just my .02

Had mine installed last week. Awesome head unit, but still not 100% convinced it's worth the $$$$$$

Looks great... Would you mind taking a picture from the top of the dash looking forward... I am really considering this upgrade... But I also plan on a Sport Cage and want to make sure it would not interfere
