Single Din 6.2 inch Android 4.4 Car Stereo DVD Player for Jeep Wrangler (2007-2012) Dodge Journey(2008-2011) | Pumpkin
This is the one I bought. I think it is the dual core. It had everything I need to hook it up. Totally plug and play.

Mine already had the upgraded alpine stereo and amp. Do I need anything else to install this? Looks like it uses rca output for audio and has a sub out. Do I need to get any kind of wiring harness too?

alright so I did the thing and bought the 4 core version. Install was pretty easy, if anyone else gets this and hasn't worked on a car stereo before, its plug and play. The RCA cables are auxilary output/input, but otherwise the sound goes through the main wire harness.
Sound quality definitely is not what it was but it sounds like more of an amp issue than anything... Is there an upgraded harness I could use that would interface better with the stock Alpine amp? It sounds kind of like someone took the fader and pushed everything mostly forward. There's a little bit of sound from the roll cage, and the subwoofer simply does not boom like it used to. bass is very short whereas it used to kind of resonate longer if that makes sense.
Any ideas if something like the PAC RP4 CH11 would alleviate the issue? Or perhaps a new amplifier i could put in place of the stock unit?

EVIC Data?
So I installed the head unit and love it! Does anyone have any idea how we could possibly the EVIC data to the unit (i.e. TPMS, mpg, etc. )? There is a TPMS app but it doesn't pick up the sensors or data.
BTW, Bluetooth OBD dongle with Torque rocks too

might be possible with a rooted version...
My EVIC still says AM 533 as if my old radio is plugged in at that channel... I think the factory amp (if you have premium sound) is controlled by the factory head unit. Gonna try plugging that back in with the battery connected, change the sound settings i want, and then go back to the Android unit to see if it retains settings from the 730n

Just a quick update, these are NOT compatible with the factory amp if you have the premium audio with the amplifier. i received an e-mail from Pumpkin stating that they don't have an updated canbus adapter. And it costs 116 bucks to ship it back to China with tracking...
Pictures of the wiring harness they send with, would it be possible to use something like a Metra CHTO 013 in addition to the below so that the factory AMP received the 'turn on' signal? Supposedly it also has the ability to adjust factory gain.

I'll add my 2 cents and experience. I purchased one of these a few months ago, it was the 4.4.4 kitkat version with 6.2" screen dual core. Installation was very easy, literally unplug old unit and plug in new unit with supplied harness adapter. I did have to trim some of the plastic on the dash surround near the top corners as the fitments was to tight. Mine did not come with the antenna adapter so I hadto buy that separate afterwards even though it was supposed to be included. My experience using the unit was terrible, the sound was less than my stock unit, just seemed like the built in amp dis not have much power. Was happy with the gps app that is came with but everything else was terrible. I could not get it to connect with a Bluetooth obd dangle, when I used some apps they did not rotate to landscape view so it would just be sitting sideways, I tried fixing this with settings as you can select auto screen rotate on or off. The radio would just cut in and out every 5 seconds. The unit would always randomly restart itself. None of the usb ports recognised when I connected anything. I was able to connect my android phone and download my phone book but automatically reconnecting every time was a pain and sometime would not connect at all and my wife's iPhone would not connect. It would not always perform the function that you selected such as if I wanted to play music from my phone it would take me to the dial screen. Thereseemed to be something different every time I used it. I contacted the seller who was responsive and wanted to try and resolve the issues however every day there was something different. After giving up I requested a refund, the seller wanted me to capture all my issues on video and put on YouTube so they can see, this was very painful as all the issues were intermittent. I pretty much demanded a refund or said that I would raise a claim and leave negative feedback, they agreed to refund but the return postage was 1/4 of what I paid for it which they agreed to pay half.
It may have been that I just got a faulty but I would be hard convinced to try another one.

I just found this thread, and it looks like something like this is what I'm looking for.
I had originally ordered a Kenwood DDX9702S because I was interested in Android Auto, but while I was waiting for it to arrive I looked deeper into what was required to install / use it, and discovered that I was still going to need to physically plug the phone into it via usb (and there's no usbs on the front), so that was sort of a non-starter for me. Turns out Amazon sent me the wrong model stereo, so I sent it back.

I'm mostly interested in using google maps and the ability to load my music onto the hdd or sd card. I currently have the bare-bones factory stereo that doesn't even have bluetooth.
So these android units look like they'd fit the bill (I have no problem using my phone as a hot-spot to make the google maps work).
But I also found this on ebay:
Backup Camera Quad Core Android 4 4 HD 7" 2 DIN Car Stereo GPS Radio Bluetooth E | eBay
It appears to be a bit cheaper than the other models because it doesn't have the CD/DVD (which I don't need), and the fact that it's a "universal" unit (so it doesn't look to be plug-and-play). I[m wondering if anyone has any experience with this sort of thing and know how difficult that would be to wire up and install? I'm assuming I would at least need a double-din adapter.

Also, is the lighting around the knobs white or purple-ish like it seems in the pic?
Just picked one up myself
