I have the 13" antennax as well, probably one of the best mods under $20 you can do to your JK.

Unscrew the old antenna, then screw the new one one. then drove my jeep to and from work (50/50 city/hwy). I havent been offroad with it either. FF few months, now theres a curve to it. dont get me wrong, i want to like it. looks great, but not with a sad curve.

Not sure what I'm missing here. Is there a good reason to replace the stock antenna? Garage door? Looks? Color? Reception? Something else?

Keeps the antenna from getting stuck in branches and snapping back onto the Jeep. And looks too of course.

I cut my factory antenna in half and painted with black plasti dip. Looks awesome and not loss of reception.
