I thought of this last night. I was thinking of wiring a whole bunch of leds clustered together??

Plausible or not?

Yes, there is actually a thread I read on here a while back. I don't remember the name of it but someone ordered individual led's and made rock lights and turn signals out of them in clusters. It came out awesome and was fairly cheap. I wanna say the thread was something like "cheap rock lights" or something along those lines. Try a google search for it. If you wanted another alternative, I replaced my autozone rock lights with some from XK Glow this weekend. Cost $60 on amazon and they are stupid bright and amazing. Here's a pic of one pod (comes with 10).

If you were talking about headlights, oracle makes led strips and bulbs for this but it's going to be a pain and will cost $$$$.

Why?

You can use a lens or amber LED's.

I made some led / smd fog lights using 50w led chips and 12v to 50w led drivers. Not super pretty but they work and only cost me like 40 bux each to scratch build.
