I insulated my entire Jeep including the hard top(then covered with hothead liners) with B-Quiet Insulation. Now my satellite reception is gone. I heard this antenna is above the sound bar. I just want to confirm if this is true and where would be a good place to relocate it to?

It ought to be on the passengers side up near the soundbar. You can mount it anywhere where there is line of site. You can consider the under the front facia above the radio; its where the compass module resides.

 

I bought a new antenna with a much longer lead on ebay. Can't remember the cost (maybe $15). I mounted it above the sound bar. HUGE improvement in SAT reception.
