Default Auto windows not working

I just bought a 2013 JK 2 door Sport but the auto up/down of the power windows don't work. They go up and down just fine but I have to hold the switch. I've tried all the fixes and combination of procedures I can find on the internet such as holding the button after it goes up and down to reset the limits but nothing has work. Any ideas what's wrong and how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

Your windows probably have only auto down. Auto up is not addressed in my copy the 2013 owner's manual.

When you try for auto down, can you feel the switch go past a detent, into the auto down position? If not, there may be something wrong with the switch.

Nope. I don't feel it on the down or up side and its the same on both front window switches.

You won't feel the detent on the up side, as there should not be an auto up option. Do you have the word "AUTO" under the switch? If so....
The switch should snap past the auto down detent. Pull the switch down and see if it looks like there is room in the slot to pull it down a little more.

Yup that did the trick. Yes, it says auto. I have to press pretty hard but the dent is there and the window auto rolls down fine. Crazy system, no up but down. I've never see that before.

Thanks for the help

I'm thinking auto up carries some liability with it.
Glad you got it working.

Good thought. Most cars that have auto up have sensors like garage doors to stop little fingers from getting caught.
