back up camera lens?

Default back up camera lens?

wondering if anyone has had any problems with the lens of a back up camera getting scratched up from mud, road grime, dirt etc. I read on another forum that the lens from the vr3 was easily scratchable from the elements. Has anyone experienced this?

I put an aftermarked one....it's on the bumber right above the tow hitch and I haven't had any problems at all so far.
