Back Up Cameras
Has anyone added one and where did you mount it?
I am thanking of adding a carpick and a couple of cameras. Would like to see what others have done.
Thanks for any info.

above trailer hitch is the best spot imho. there are a few people on here with it mounted there. it looks nice if you drill a hole and install a flush one rather than a license plate one or one on a bracket. you can grab one on ebay for 20 bucks and its works great.
The first two pics, the cam is mounted to the bottom of the rear bumper just to the right of the trailer hitch for protection.
The second two pics, the cam is mounted to the bottom of the front bumper, just below the front liscense plate holder. These cams are from the same site that offers the lockpick. The front cam I have programmed to function at 0-8 mph in drive. After 8 mph it turns off through the Mygig RER.
The rear cam works while in reverse. Also have a pair of KC reverse lights mounted to the bottom of the rear bumper that helps tremendously while backing up in total darkness. Allows you to see what the cam see's on the screen much better at night.
As far as cleaning, never have cleaned them and have had them for a couple of years. The only time they were blurry is during rain.
I thought about drilling holes in the bumper but feared that the cams would eventually quit working and would need replaced. And with the way technology changes the old ones would not be available and I might get stuck with the hole.

I have dual cameras one flush mount in rear bumper and one above third brake light. The camera in bumper lets you hook up by yourself or for parking. When towing utility trailer the bumper mounted camera and led backup lights are not much good so I put 55 watt fog lights and a second camera on third brake light. The high mounted camera lets me see whole trailer, the fog lights are on there own switch not tied to reverse like the bumper leds. Doug
