Default Backup Camera wiring Help

I am trying to install a backup camera into my JK now I have the infinity sound system with an aftermarket HU. I have a Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD HU and trying to figure out the wiring to hook up the Backup camera. How is everyone installing it? I have the HU reverse wire hooked into the Pac-Audio radio wire harness which is green. Then I have the backup camera red wire going to the ACC of the Pac-Audio radio harness and the I have the camera grounded and the yellow video cable to the radio. Is this correct? Right now my radio is thinking I am in reverse all the time so all I am getting is the camera and can't change the source on the radio. I have a 6 speed not an Auto Jeep. So there is no selector like the auto has telling the Jeep is going in reverse. Will I have to tap into the reverse lights instead of the Pac-Audio radio harness? Which wire is it? Any help. Thanks.

Well I have the camera working but that is all I see on the HU. I can't get it to switch off the camera. No matter what gear I am in all I see is the camera. I think I will do a manual switch so I can have it on when ever I want. Which wire do I tap into for the reverse lights?

Now the radio doesn't even turn on. Checked the fuses all fine, wired in another radio and nothing. Looks like the Pac-Audio harness shit the bed. Great so pissed off. I guess I will look for another harness and try it.

You will also need to go into the settings of the pioneer headunit & set the proper polarity for the backup cam turn-on. Also the reverse light is a white/grey. Available in the passenger kick panel, or the TIPM, brown 40 pin plug, pin15. Or of course at the rear tail light.

Sounds to me like you grounded the backup came to constant power so the HU is always thinking that you are always in reverse. What you need to do is ground it to your reverse lights. Whether it is a stick or an auto it still has a switch to turn on your reverse lights. Try this out and see if that fixes your problem.

Your backup wire should be in the passenger kick panel in the bundle of wires running to the rear of the vehicle. There should be 1 RCA running from the back up cam that goes to the reverse cam preout on the back of the HU. There should also be a switched acc wire and ground running with that. Switched acc goes to the red wire off of the PAC chy4 module and the ground can go to the black wire from the same module. The reverse wire goes to the back up lights from the PAC harness. Make sure you test with a multi meter before hooking up any wires!
Reverse light wire should be white with a gray stripe. That's what it is in a 2011 I have no tech for 2012.

Yep, just to repeat things everyone else is saying. I hasve a '12 manual JKUR and wired my own backup camera. It sounds likes you have it wired to something always hot, easiest way is to wire it to the reverse lights, only two screws to take off the tailight and splice it into the reverse light!
