Default Baja Design

So...I received some Rigid Industry Dually spots for Christmas. Went ahead and bought some Poison Spyder windshield mounts and an OTTRATW rocker switch for the install. This will be the 1st mod to my new Rubicon. I was saving for a lift, wheels, tires, bumpers, and winch to do all at once...but now I have decided I might as well upgrade all the lighting first since the factory garbage is driving me insane.

The search begins! I had my mind pretty much set on running the Dually's on the windshield, D2 driving in the factory fog location, D2 diffused in the rear bumper, E2 50" combo lightbar, and HID's from hidprojectors.com. Wiring everything to an sPod. That was until I started hanging up posters in the garage that I picked up at SEMA/PRI, and ran across some literature from the Baja Designs booth.

Searching around here and google, it's hard to find any real info and what you can find is pretty biased. The only decent comparison was from a guy on the Raptor forums. From what it looks like, the BD stuff has a more neutral 4300K color temperature, where Rigid seems more in the 5-6000K range. It also seems like the light coverage is a little better, wide and far. I'm just curious to why there isn't more user info on the products, as BD seems to put out some pretty high end lighting. Anybody here run their stuff? Their color temp is more to my liking and thinking about returning my Dually's for Squadron Pro's. I'm also wondering if the mounts currently available for RI products will be easily adaptable for BD lights? I manufacture high performance engine components for a living, and have all the machining capabilities to make something work...just don't have the time nor care to hassle with fab'n mounts for everything.

I can't speak to their LED's, but I have two pencil beam and two driving pattern Fuegos. Their performance has been mixed. The driving pattern lights have worked well for the 5 years I've had them. I did send them in for a refurb, as they are covered by a lifetime warranty. However, the pencil beams have never worked properly. I don't understand why, because the bulb s appear to be the same, with only the reflector being different. I had them refurbished, too, and they failed again soon afterward. Another issue is that I've gotten significant moisture into 3 of the 4 lights, causing one to have its reflector rust badly. Their customer service is top notch, and I'm sure they'd refurbish them again, but other than the driving lights, I've moved on to LED. I keep running the driving lights because they won't freeze over in a snow or ice storm like the LED's do, so they keep me covered for any conditions.

Did you happen to run across the light shoutout from the Texas raptor run on the raptor forums? That was the best no b.s comparison of lights I have ever seen

Thanks for the input dmwil. Sucks about the moisture issue. LED vs. HID in snow has made the decisions tough. Which is part of the reason I'm not going with LED headlights...and I want halo's

The light shootout on the Raptor forum is exactly what I was referring to. Although he favored HID's, he felt BD and VisionX had the most neutral color LED's. I'm still undecided on what I'm going to go with? I really like the OnX6 50" light bar, and with their 30 day money back guarantee...I'm thinking why not give it a whirl?

Here's another decent shootout I found
