Basslink + Top Down = Theft?
Hi All,
I am looking for a self powered sub solution to conserve space and get a little more ooomph from the stock system.
I have it narrowed down to the Kenwood KSC-SW1 (which supposedly can fit under the front seat and thus be hidden) and the Infinity Basslink.
My question to you is that if the Basslink has to be in the trunk, when the top is down it would be easy as heck to steal. Anyone with the Basslink have a solution to this?
Thanks

I'm thinking of removing mine for the summer, and just using it with the hard top, which is on 8 months of the year anyways. That way I don't have to worry about the rain and theives.

Can you tell more about the kenwood? Is the sound good? Installation-easy, hard? Pics would be great if you get a chance. Thanks
x2. I'd really like to hear from somebody that's heard this and the Basslink on the same system, but that may be wishful thinking. I'd settle for somebody that's heard both, even on different systems.

As far as installation on the SW1, it's fairly easy if you have installed amps in the past. It comes with a really nice wiring harness that makes it a snap. Everything is clearly labeled and there is plenty of wire length to run behind the dash. I ran the power lead straight to the battery (it has an inline fuse). Grounded it by the driver's door ground point. Ran the accessory power to the driver side lighter port. Ran the speaker wires to the front speakers and spliced into them. Done.
I have tried to take photos, but my camera is too big and bulky to fit in there and get a shot under the seat. I have a HUGE camera. Besides it's dark under there!

I would also add that I replaced all of the stock speakers in addition to installing the SW1. It would probably do ok with the stock speakers, but you'll get better results replacing the stock speakers too.
