Default Battery Light coming on

Anybody have trouble with battery light coming on? The alternator checks fine and the battery connections have been cleaned. Sometimes it is totally random.

Do you have ANY aftermarket electrical stuff hooked up? If the alternator checks fine, how old is your battery? Might be a gremlin...

It is a 2007 and I believe it has the stock battery. This has been happening for a while and I have never had problems starting or anything like that. It has even been very cold lately.

Better just go get a new battery. . . . . After 48 months, and all that cold winters, you need a new one. Better safe than sorry. . . . . Trust me!

Mine has been doing the same thing since I got it. Usually it's related to slow engine speed and cold weather, like taking off from a start . If it's really cold outside it'll do it more often. I think the voltage drops below whatever the computer thinks it should be with the alternator running and it thinks the alternator isn't charging the system. The thing is that it has been doing it for four years now, and I'm still using the stock battery with all kinds of extra electrical stuff hooked up (winch, switches, etc...). I have a 2007 also and I have never heard of anyone other that a 2007 having the problem. Maybe Jeep found out what was wrong and fixed it for 2008 and up models. I've never taken it to the dealer or anything, so it hasn't bothered me that much, i guess. I'll be interested to see if anyone has had this gremlin fixed.

Default Replace the battery

Mine failed without notice on a 300 mile trip with trailer in tow. The battery just ran out on a hot day. My good fortune was the Jeep culture. I was assisted with a jump start by another JKU and on my way.
