Default Can I activate a backup camera with a switch?

Hello I have a 2015 JKU sport with the factory Uconnect nav system. I have purchased a backup camera kit from amazon and was wondering if it's possible to make it come on with a switch? The question is more that I want to put a front facing cam to make parking easier and don't want to spend the money on a new radio.

Firstly - welcome to the forum!
Not sure how the system switches the radio to the image but it is triggered by selcting reverse then the ECU does its thing. The only way I could possibly think how to do this easily would be to emulate the reverse switch in the system by paralleling it with a toggle switch in the dash. Only problem here is you forget to turn it off at night. Probaly a lot of coding in WiTech to make it work properly if it is even possible at all.

Thanks for the welcome to the forum. and if it has something to do with the ecu then i doubt I'll do it since i don't want to damage it. I was hoping it was something simple like for the dvd player in my car I can just ground a wire and it would play while driving. As for leaving it on when the jeep is off my switch panel only has power when the key is on.

Thanks for the welcome. If it has to do with the ecu then I probably wont mess with it since I don't want to buy a new one. For leaving it on at night my switch panel only has power when the key is on.
