Default Can you add a Mopar remote start?

i have a 2008 Rubicon unlimited.

It has electric locks and windows.

Can the dealer add a Mopar remote start? Or does it have to come from the factory?

You can add the kit to an 08 as long as it has power lock, power windows, and the auto trans. It's jst like factory, comes with 2 new keys to add the button.

You must have the Auto Trans too... 6 Speeds will not work... You can install it in a 6 Speed but the dealership will not activate it to work due to liability's.

yes it can be done. The remote start kit is like $250 I have no idea how much the labor to install is, but I think it is something that you can do yourself without too much of a headache. It is my understanding that they are prewired for it, so I think it is plug and play...although you may have to have it reprogrammed at the dealer or something. Just give the dealer a call and ask how much .

I just did the remote start the kit cost $207.00 +tax it came with 2 keys and a security module /antenna that I installed then had the dealer program it and cut the keys they charged 1 hour labor. Now I have 4 keys 2 with remote start and 2 without. Seems to work good so far.

Do you have a PN for it? I have a 2007 and am looking to do the same install.

How hard/easy was it? Any pictures?

I checked at the dealer last week.Mopar has 2 kits, one for power windows and locks and one for Jeeps without power windows or locks.I do not have power windows or locks and they quoted me a price of $400.00 for the kit and installation. It will not void the warranty.
