Default CB Antenna Light

I used to live in California and was a regular at Glamis with my quad's and rail. When riding in the dunes a "saftey flag" on an 8' whip is required on all vehicles (or at least it used to be). One of the things I used to rig up was small light on top of the whip (flag). It was very useful on night rides and with some colored lights you could find wondering members of you pack much easier that way.

I was thinking of doing something similar on the 4' FireStik that came with my Cool Tech UltraMount CB antenna. I thought a small circle of LED's around the top of antenna might work best. I don't want something on the very top like I used to do because it would get beat up driving in and out of garages, etc. I'd like to hook it up to my running lights so when I hit the unlock or remote start my antenna would like up with the rest of the running lights.

I have some technical questions:
Do you thinkg the LED or wiring would have a big impact on the CB TX/RX?
Would I be able to tie into the wiring in the left rear tail light for power or should I get it from somewhere else?

I did some searching on the forum and couldn't find any info.

Any idea's, thoughts, questions, comments are welcome. - Thanks

I'd think that wouldn't be a good idea. Might introduce engine noise and/or signal problems.

Someone had posted a new flag holder that looks pretty nice

Just tie/tape a chem light (glow stick, light stick, etc) to the end whenever you are on the trail at night. Cheap, simple, and might even be more dependable with more visability
