Default choosing the right sub for me '12 JKU

For all you audio guru's out there I need help with finding the right sub for my JKU. I'm not a heavy bass kindof guy. I just want something to fill out the low end of my stereo. I've found some options but am really skeptical about getting any of them as I'm afraid its not going to be what I like/be too loud. I also have 2 year old that absolutely loves riding in "daddy's gee-heep" especially with the top down, and don't want it to rattle any of her important brain functions loose. I upgraded the stock stereo cause y'all know it sucks from the factory, very hard to get good sound with top off. Here's the specs on the new system I had installed:

Head unit - pioneer avic x940bt
Dash speakers - focal 165a1 6.5" component with crossover for tweeters
Speaker bar - focal 165ca1 6.5" coaxial

Sound is very good but lacks in the lower range it has some low end but not enough to let you get the whole audio experience. I love to have the whole listening experience. I mainly listen to southern rock and classic rock. Here's one sub set up that I thought would suit my needs but like I said I'm just skeptical about subs in general. Its a Pioneer TS-SWX251 10" Flat Subwoofer with Enclosure 800 Watts RMS of 200 but the reviews I've read on it people will push more than that to it.

If any of y'all can help me I would be forever greatful.

Thanks,
Brady

Your thinking is perfectly in-line. Here is a couple more suggestions. Depending on what your budget is. I have the R2S bolted to the rear gate. But the P3S is a better match for this amp.

Rockford Fosgate R2S-1X10

Rockford Fosgate Punch P3S-1X10
Rockford Fosgate Punch PBR300X1

How's the bass with the R2S? Not to overpowering I presume, since you suggested it. Does it give the music an overall better "feel"?

I love mine. I have my amp gains set to only 50%. This set-up is perfect for your full range listening pleasure. And is only overpowering if you want it to be.

I have dual 10" MTX squares and I love them, if your not wanting much bass just get one or 8". The squares have a sharp snap when they hit vs the circles that just can't do it as well ( only makes your hair stand up if turned up) but I'd recommend MTX, kicker, fosgate, and for amps my hyphonics is just down right amazing, but that's the only amp I know is reputable
