Default CoastalTech Mic...

I can't seem to get the mic to work with the MyGig
I already upgraded the software to 9.713 and also installed the LockPick so the VR function should automatically be working. I just can't seem to get the MyGig to rebogninze Voice commands...any ideas as to whats wrong?

Did you go into the engineering mode and turn on the voice command and vcards? hit the seek up seek down and menu all at the same time. then scroll down towards the bottom then click it to enable it. I don't know if that helps you or not but that is all I know

Default got it working

don't know why but all of a sudden it started working right....what exactly does vcards mean and do?

I know that by installing the lockpick, it automatically turns on the VR feature but I noticed that it didn't turn on the vcards feature.

The way I understood it (still don't have it working right) was that once you pair your phone with the mygig that the vcards is like your address book. That way when soneone calls it should pop up HOME etc. I may be wrong though.

I think this would only be true if you imported your vcards from your phone.

Default myGig Microphone

My CT mic worked fine and I kept testing it as I reassembled everything. At one point it just stopped working. Knowing that I was about to void any chance to return it, I cut off the shrink wrap to see if it might be something I could fix. What I found inside was a small amp connected to the mic by some very brittle 30AWG wires. I tried to reattach them but the wires and mic were just too small and fragile. Ended up soldering on a small clip-on mic from a wireless phone with more flexible shielded cabling. Worked out GREAT and I think it will hold up better in the harsher environment.

I did try to import my address book but it never would do it. I am not sure why it wouldn't but I have tried bluetoothing certain contacts that I want to have and can't do it. I am still playing with it though

As far as the mic I did read where someone said not to pinch the wires that are close to the mic end itself. There is some kind of connectors that will get jacked up.

Depends on 2 things:

1) If your phone is fairly recent and has decent Bluetooth capabilities, it can send caller information to the MyGig for display, and the name will popup (assuming your phone has the information)

2) If you manually entered contacts into the mygig address book, their name will show up when there is an incoming call.
