Default Compass Off

So my compass on the dash is directing me the opposite direction from which I am travelling. Meaning it says North when I am heading South, any suggestions for a fix. I've tried what is suggested in the manual as far as setting the correct region and then driving in 2 circles but nothing fixes it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Have you tried parking your Jeep away from any buildings and/or other cars and then holding down the button for about 10 sec? If I'm correct, this should recailbrate your compass. If so, do you have anything mounted on top of your center console that is metallic? The compass unit is directly underneath it and something mounted up there can influence it.

You will also get problems....like I did...when you install a CB right on top of the center of your dash....

CB speakers are generally on the bottom of the unit. Well, as most on here know, your "magnetic" compass is right under where my CB was. CB speakers are not magnetically shielded, thus....it threw off my compass. I removed my CB speaker, mounted a remote one & voila....problem solved!

Or...you could have your unit in backwards....
