Default Complete Stereo Replacement

I have replaced the HU and all speakers in my 2013 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon.

The OEM Radio was not powerful enough for my listening tastes with the top down and decided to go with more power.

All of the items fit and sounds great.

Alpine 910 Nav
Dash: R Type 6.5 Component, using the tweeter housing and factory tweeter grills
Roll Bar: R Type 6.5 Coaxial, using a baffle (no polyfill) to help with air displacement and using the factory grills
Sub: 8" R Type sub woofer, mounted in factory enclosure.
The PDX-V9 mounted to the bottom of the passenger seat, but off the floor and not visible with the doors off.
I also had them install a back up camera

A couple quick notes that deserve light.

The sub woofer requires a 1/2" spacer to fit. The stock enclosure is more than adequate. The 8" R-Type is not going to vibrate the cars mirrors next to you, but it will vibrate yours, you'll feel it throughout the cab, and you will be surprised at the clarity. Audiophiles will approve. Without the grill and including the 1/2 spacer, the sub mounts flush with the enclosure. Using this setup provided no rattling noises when played at near max volumes.

The amplifier is 100w x4 and 500 w x1. This is the appropriate amount of power for the speakers, however it is too much power for the sub. When using this application, you must limit the subs gain at the amplifier to achieve best results. I have found that the sub will actually take nearly 70% of the gain at 2 ohms.

If anyone has any questions about this, I will do my best to answer them. I did not do the install myself, but I was an integral part of the decision making.

It was a bit pricey, but to get that kind of power, volume, and clarity in my Jeep was worth it to me.

I would recommend all of the mods, and if anyone is in Kansas, I would recommend Advanced Audio in Wichita do the install.

I can take pictures of the sub and amp installed, but everything else is invisible (minus the HU) and there have already been great write ups on how to replace the speakers and HU. The point of this post was to let anyone considering these mods know that it can be done and it can sound great.

One more time: Sounds great. My Mother-in-law was in the Jeep looking at Christmas lights with us and without knowing about any of the mods went on and on about how great it sounded. If she is impressed, and would usually care less, I guarantee you will be happy with the results.

For anyone Interested, yes, I will sell the <1000 miles Factory Alpine 7 speaker set and 130 HU. Pictures of the equipment upon request. They didn't sound bad, they just didn't get loud enough (for me...) for top down driving.
