Convert side markers to LED Rock lights?
Hello All,
Not sure if anyone has tried this, but with my flat fenders, I don't' have a use for my side markers really. Also, in Colorado they are not required.
The #194 light bulb is 3.78 watts and 0.27 amp draw - I believe.
Please correct me if I am way off in left field here, but is seems that one could wire in low wattage/amp LED and a simple on/off switch and convert them to rock lights.
Doing some testing, I removed the bulbs from the side markers and all other lights still work, thus I think a switch would not be a factor.
Of course if I moved, it could be converted back.
Thoughts?
Thank you,
Dale

Don't the side markers come on whenever you turn on the headlights? Would it not be an issue to illuminate the underside of the jeep every time you turn on your headlights or parking lights??
Just put them on their own switch and power line.

That was my initial thought as well Karl. But he did say on a switch. That would allow him to shut them off on the street. And he would also have to have his headlight switch on to use them on the trail.
