It does flex well but it is not designed to flex and be held for hours or days in the flexed position. Also not all garages have perfectly flat ceilings so you may be able to pull in but backing out the antenna would catch and break.

Ditto on Cooltech's excellent customer service.
I too got the quick disconnect for mine.
It can be a PITA to take off antenae when it is pouring to back into garage,
but that is a small price to pay. It also keeps it from wondering off if it
in the vehicle.

i have a soft top and the antenna flexes forward and tucks under the upper flap for the side window. keeps it down when entering and exiting the garage

I've got the CoolTec and a 3' Firestick.

It isn't any higher than the factory radio antenna, but I get excellent performance with my Galaxy 939 (peak/tune). At least for use on the trail.
For long road trips a 5' Wilson is mounted. The Galaxy has a really accurate SWR meter, and it's quick and easy to fine tune the antenna after changing it with the wrench.

Hate those QD antenna connectors. It seems the SWR moves around with them, and they are stuck when you really need to get it off.
It's easier just to put the proper sized wrench in the console.
