My check engine light was on. It turned on a couple of months back when my axles blew up. I thought it was related to the axle issues so it was not a huge issue. I finally took it in to the dealership yesterday.

They found my driver side EGR wire cut. It was cleanly cut in a manner consistent with wire cutters. I can't figure out who did it, why, or when? It set me back $292. That is with the oil change and lube. (It's cold and I didn't want to lay on the concrete)

It seemed like a pretty fair price and they were able to get me going in under 3 hours. I'm happy to have the CEL off.

 

You are saying the driver's side Exhaust Gas Recirculation wire was cut?

 

I believe that is what they called it. It threads into the driver side exhaust manifold and into the computer wire loom. Is that the Exhaust Gas Recirculation wire?

 

Sounds more like an oxygen sensor. There are four of them; two on each side.

The EGR valve is on the back of the passenger's side cylinder head.

 

I'll have to take your word on that... I still don't know how it was cut. It's nice to have that stupid light turned off
