Default Dash lights flashing and wont start!! Help!!

I had just put the doors back on my jeep because it's suppose to rain and now The jeep won't start and the dash lights flicker like crazy! You can hear all the relays flashing inside The fuse box under the hood, I checked batt voltage and am getting 12.2 volts with and w/out cables connected to it. With just the key forward the positive terminal on the batterie gets hot and pretty quick. I am thinking the starter solenoid is bad, but what do y'all think? Anyone else have a similar problem??

P.S. yes I did unplug all the door connectors and try again but was also a fail.

Any feed back will greatly be appreciated thanks!

No I haven't. I talked with another tech and he told me my battery might be shorted out. He said if I had jumped off another car it could happen. And I did yesterday morning but didn't drive it again until the afternoon. So I am going to rob the battery out of my p/up and give it a shot today.

I also bench tested my starter and it kicks out and spins with no problem not even any lag.

Default Corrosion?

Sounds like you have a bad cable comnnection on you battery. To check this, put you meter directly on the battery poles, not the clamps. If the voltage doesn't drop you need to clean your battery connecitions. If the voltage does drop then your battery is bad.

It was a bad battery. Put a new one in today. Glad it wasn't anything major!

phew~~~ i wish that all problems were solved that easy. I'd check your alternator too, jump starting a car does horrors on your alternator. i learned the hard way and now carry a booster pack. congrats on putting your jeep back on the road where it belongs!
