Default In-Dash Security

I'm thinking of adding a high end in-dash audio unit to my JK. I am looking for a security piece to conceal and secure the head unit as the screen is not removable. I think I remember seeing a product like this. The head unit I'm considering is the Pioneer SPHDA100 which looks pretty cool.

Any ideas?

SPH DA100 hasn't been released yet, great choice tho, that's what I want too! To be completely honest you will have to do something creative to your vehicle, something someone wouldn't think about, different bolts or something because a radio in a JK could be taken out in mins regardless of what you do to it, on top of that if someone wants it they will get it. best bet is make it difficult and be smart where you park your jeep unattended.

If it fits in the stock location, ruddy makes a fold out cover that locks it in.

I've had some equipment involuntarily relocated before so I get what you mean about them getting it if they want it. My Jeep doesn't go anywhere risky so I thought it was worth trying.

On that head unit, it looks like it doesn't have nav but will run the nav in your phone on the screen. Is that right? That is better anyway with technology changing the way it does.

There is a head unit I have seen once. The guy called it "the iguana". When the car is on it looks like a normal "bar" looking head unit. Then once the car is turned off, the headunit pulls back moves into the back of the dash so that no one can possible get or see it. Maybe that helps?

Yes, that is true, What really caught my eye is the Pandora and the motionx gps. I got both for my iphone and I love them, those two apps alone sold me on the radio, I just can't decide between the sph-da01 and the da100. Either way I think they both have great concepts. and Right now motionx is running a special you get it for a year for $10.

I remember that. No idea on model but I remember reading about it.

I read Pioneer app radios do not have a removable face but their top end nav receiver does have a removable face. That seems like a key feature for a Jeep. I would like to have the app control but would rather have the added security.

There's is an Offroad place that I remember that one of the guys who works there had one. I'm pretty sure it's like $800-$1200 just as a heads up. Lol
