Im beginning to think it was just a bad battery, alternator after testing is fine also

It probably was. It happens more than you would imagine, even on brand new vehicles. Did this not get replaced under warranty?

My factory battery died after a year. I worked part-time at Autozone when I was an undergraduate, and I learned then that it is very common for factory batteries in new cars to die after one or two years.

This is what happened;
1-went off-roading
2-while driving home the road slip dummy light came on (didnt think anything of it)
3- got home and pressure washed the mud off
4- next morning went to start it and it would not start (interior lights were dim)
5- tried to jump start jeep from another jeep (unsuccessful)
6- checked voltage at battery (read 17amps wtf?)
7- tapped battery with rubber hammer on top, and retook voltage (read 9amps wtf?)
8- found battery terminals were tight at the nut but did not seem to grip the battery stud fully (could move terminal side to side)
9- only accessary on battery terminals was a winch.
10- took jeep in to dealer becuase it was under warranty
11- they changed out the bad battery and its been fine since
MY QUESTION IS, WHAT KILLED THE BATTERY? the power washing? the slightly lose terminal? Off ROADING (battery plates shifted?)
I want to avoid this happening again.
A few months after buying my COD in 2011, the battery showed signs of failing.
My wife wanted me to take it to the dealer for a replacement.
Instead, I went to Sears and bought their best Die Hard.
OEM batteries suck.

I was thinking the same thing.
I had a similar problem and I simply replaced the battery.

I have a 2008 and have put a new battery in every year to year and a half. I just replaced my battery with a Diehard Platinum deep cycle battery and a week later click no start, tried a second time and it started.

Any ideas?

If your doing one every year, id check all your accessaries that you've hooked up. Sounds like something has constant power running to it.
