So i'm looking for (might be the wrong name) a power inverter (?) that will connect to the 12v in the center console, and that i can hard mount into the bottom of said console, I want it to have a normal household plug, a USB port for charging the iPhone and another 12v in it... The only ones i can find are ones that plug directly into the 12v socket, and i want one that has a short wire with a switch of some sort so i can turn it on or off as needed.

 

Get the 12v on & wire your own switch into it or get one with an on/off switch already on the inverter

 

I use a cup holder energizer power inverter plugged into the 12 cigarette lighter in the console. It is quiet, works well, and has plenty of power for cell phone, laptop, iPod, etc. For like 30 bucks it is a great buy. It has a 3 prong AC outlet and a bunch of 2.1 USB outlets.

There are a few I bought the $35 one which has the highest output rating. Works nice. Just remember that the outlet in your console is hot all the time so dont forget to unplug when not in use. It stores real nice in the console or glove box when not using. When in use I plug it in, the power cable goes in the small slot already in the side top of the console and it sits snug in the rear most cup holder. Makes it super easy to plug everything in that way as well.
