But since I already had 2 horns stock I think I should be able to replace them with 2 new horns.

I would agree, provided each one doesn't exceed the 10 amp fuse in each circuit.

Oh OK. I was under the impression that you were replacing a single horn with two.

Sooo. You just replace each horn with the existing wireing right?

I have a 2012 Sport that I just put the PIAA dual low tone horns on. I used the automatic transmission cooler tabs with a home made bracket behind the grill, because I have a six speed. I took the stock horn off, and plugged the home made harness in. The are louder in front of the JK, but quieter in the cab because the aren't under the hood anymore. I just plugged them in, and they work fine with no relay.

I started with only one stock horn. I just split the wires at the horns when I made the harness.

Do you know what they draw for amps?

I have a set of PIAA horns coming to replace my wimpy stock horn. The question I have is about the wiring. Some say paralell.....some say in series. Now I am not sure and I really don't want to burn out a relay or cause some problem with the remote start or alarm system. Some say include a relay. Some say the stock setup will handle the two horns. If so.....which way to wire them so I don't blow the stock wiring....Anyone done this for real? Feedback needed please. Include a link to a write up with pics maybe???

Thanks!
CORRECTED, Thanks ronjenx for pointing that out. My mind was not in gear

I just installed a dual horn setup using a 5 pin relay. This replaced the stock horn completely.

(If you use a 4 pin relay, put both horn positives on post 87)

Post # 30: Fused power from the battery
Post # 85 & 86: Wiring from stock horn, to these (doesn't matter which posts)
Post # 87: Wiring to the new horns (positive posts)

Then the open posts of the horns, to ground.

Probably not good. But at least it's your jeep.

In your 5 post relay, horn 2 should be blowing when you are not pushing the horn button.
87a should be hot when the relay coil is de-energized. How did you deal with that?

I see what you're saying, but that's not happening.

Works well. Both horns sound with the push of my (orig) horn button.

Maybe I have a defective relay.

I've corrected the previous post. Thanks for pointing that out.
