One more small detail...The E-Brake works by switching ground. Connecting the wire from the E-Brake to something else will only blow the fuse for that circuit. In the case of post #6 you would blow your ignition fuse. At least. Aftermarket H/Us work the same way. They detect a GROUND on the line in order to enable video.

You could add a switch in parallel with the E-Brake switch, but you don't want to do that either. I have no idea how the JK will respond at speed when suddenly it thinks you have pulled the E-Brake. I don't want to find out.

I think the aftermarket module is the way to go.
I have a lockpic, and even more useful than the DVD unlock is that the destination input is available while moving, so my wife or myself can enter an address without having to pull over.

Just did a lockpick install for a friend last week...plug and play. DVD works, GPS works, and only took about 15 mins.

Any particular brand that worked for you?
There are a couple out there and I'm not sure who to go with.
Thanks

You can do whatever you want to the e-brake, switch, ground t out, trick it, whatever. It won't do a damn thing since it's the computer that controls it by detcting vehicle movement by the vehicle speed sensor.

Most people go with lockpick. The new version 2.5 has the USB update feature so you don't need to burn a disc for updates.

Lockpick works amazingly to solve that problem. It also allows you to input addresses on the GPS screen while in motion. Don't ask me why I know that, though,:harhar: because I'm 100% certain that Texas is one of the states that has a law against the screen displaying a video within view of the driver.
