In most aplications there is a way to overide the safety feature and allow you to use the dvd player while moving..Give it a few months and check with a local stereo shop for the best way to bypass the problem..

well you'll have to wait a few months to beable to actualy watch one anyway, since the only thing with a screen is the mygig and your not getting that yet....

but are you saying that the changer that reads DVD won't even play the sound while driving? or did I miss that someone found a video out behind the head unit and it dos'nt work while driving ???

you didn't heear this from me, but, the way the safety devices work for DVD players is that they simply need to be grounded out in order to work at all times. Note! This is illegal in every state, and no electronic shop will do this for you since the liabilty associated with it, is akin to giving someone a loaded gun! However, if you have a buddy, who might work for a six pack left on the floor of your car one afternoon, it's as simple as cutting and anchoring one little green wire to the body of the vehicle.

Why do you state your not getting the mygig.. Almost all dealers here in Oregon have fully loaded JK's with the mygig already in them.. Just a question..Thanks Jay

They still aren't avaiable yet for ordering. That is what my dealer keeps telling me. Maybe next week or the week after they should be able to place the order. Everything I read on the forums state Job 1 is 18 Dec 06.

ok that's kinda what I thought....yea the 6 disc changer dose " read " DVD but it dos'nt have any screen so you are only able to listen to the DVD. most people seem to think that there is a "video out" behind the 6 disc head unit but as far as I know none has actualy pulled the unit to find out if that is so...

Well with DVD you can rip your mp3's to the best quality while still stuffing waay more music on the disk. You realy need to set up album folders to be able to navigate effectively.
Maybe I'm simple, but if I have dvd I don't need the other 5 discs of capacity.A DVD holds about 6 cd's worth of data. I don't have any retail cd's in my jeep. It's either a copy or MP3's/ ipod via aux jack for me.
