So I have the p-0457 code. For gas cap. Well I bought a new mopar cap, still same issue. I replaced the evap, part that broke. (Shown in picture). So lost on what to even look for. Need some help.

 

I assume you reset the computer through a programmer or battery disconnect? If not you need to drive it around for a while. The system can take 3 to 4 days of driving before it resets.

 

I also have the gas cap and engine light showing the code. I talked to the dealer and was told there is a TSB out for a dealer recall on the fuel neck causing a evap leak. They said its no charge to fix but will take about a month to get the part in. Check your local dealer to see if your jeep has same TSB. Good luck.

On my 07 I had the gas cap light being caused by a pinhole leak in an emission line right in front of the battery. There are 2 black tubes that can rub against each other. If you feel along the tubes you can feel where it's rubbing. Wrapped the lines to protect them and light went off.
