Default Factory fog light wires

I added a body armor bumper to my Sahara Unlimited and have the wiring for the factory fogs tied up. I noticed that the factory bulbs are 42 watts (kinda weird number). Anyone know if wiring a set of 55W lights up to the wires will cause problems (i.e. blow fuses, melt wires)?

I'll say yes its only a 1.5 AMP increase , the stock wire is small but it'ill work. if you want max performance use a relay and bigger wire at least 12 gauge .

The stock bulbs are 9145; 45 watt bulbs.
9155 bulbs will fit but the canbus doesn't like it and will shut them off.

You can defeat that by using an auxiliary harness and running power straight from the battery. Use a relay to the bulbs and buy a 9145 male plug to access the stock switching to trip the relay.

If you call Susquehanna Motorsports and describe this, they can build you a functional harness; you can also buy the bulbs from them if you want or from the Candlepower Store.

Or just get better 9145 bulbs...
