Default Factory Power Door Lock Button Wiring

I just installed 2011 doors on my 2008. I had to replace the wiring harness in each front door to work with the existing quick connect plugs. Everything worked well except the wires to the lock switch for the 2008 has 2 wires, and the 2011 has 3. I connected the 2, according to the labels, and the lock and unlock buttons only locked the Wrangler.
Any idea what to do with the other wire or how to get it wired correctly? Right now I don't have the lock switch hooked up and everything else works fine (windows, keyless entry, auto lock/unlock). I might go by the dealer this afternoon but can't imagine that being a lot of help.

I hope this helps, but the connector in the picture(black 3-way) I show was only available on a 2012.

This switch is canbus driven and that might be the problem. The extra wire is only for Illumination and that leads me to believe that it could be that the switch is speaking in the new computer language(11-12) and the TIPM is listening for the old computer language(07-10). Is there no way to use the original switch to do a test run?

Thank you for the info! I can't test the old switch as I don't have those doors anymore. I purchased 2, 2008 door wiring harnesses, and rewired the 2011 doors. The power window plug was the same, but the door lock connector is different, so I have to use the 2011 plug/connector and hook it to the new harness wires.

The only thing I did not do was have both front doors wired when I tested it. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Can the dealer update my TIPM to make it work?

Also, I retained the power/heated mirror wires and am going to try to get them working, but that will be another day.

If I were you I would hook up the other door and try that first, but if not you will need to get switches out of an 08.

I'm going to give that a try in a few. If it doesn't work, I'll order the switches. Thanks again for the help.

There's a site that has a harness for the power heated mirrors, even provides the switch to move the mirrors.

I'll send it via PM.
