Default A few stereo concerns..

So here we go..Ive got a 2007 Sahara 4dr with Factory Infinity system

Ive purchased a new head unit, new dash components, new sound bar speakers, new replacement sub for the factory sub and a new amp.

My original thought process was to retain the factory amp to power the dash and sound bar speakers and use the amp i have to power the 8" drop in sub.

I have all the necessary parts to install including the PAC unit.

Now im thinking I would be better off bypassing the factory amp and using the amp i have to power the speakers and getting another amp for the sub.

I assume since i have the PAC unit all i really need from the PAC are the 12+ volt lead and accessory lead an nothing else from it? In theory i guess i "wasted" money on the PAC since ive changed my mind?

So basically once ive provided power to the aftermarket unit all i need to do is run new speakers wires to the new amp and leave the factory amp completely untouched?

Short Answer: Yes. You can bypass the factory amp.

Since you have the harness hook it up like you originally planned. If you aren't happy with the dash and rollbar speaker output then go get another amp. The H/U driver might be good enough.

Ive heard issues about the factory amp limiting the rear speakers output so i thought i would just be better off bypassing it either with a new amp or like you said using the amp built in the headunit. Plus the speakers i bought are 4ohm and the output of the amp is rated at 2ohm so i would lose something there as well.

I was also thinking of replacing the PAC with this harness to make wiring easier

Axxess XSVI-6522

Then i could just sell the PAC to someone who really needs it.

I didn't have the Infinity so that was never part of my consideration. I replaced the H/U, ran to the amp and ran all new wiring to the speakers. I also used the XSVI-6522 harness.

I would just return the pac part and catch power and ground from the cig lighters and the factory speakers are 2 ohms and the ones you have are more than likely 4 ohm so it will not be nearly as loud

so basically your saying just bypass everything and act as if I never had anything installed from the factory?
