Default Finally Starting CB Install

Well 9 months after the Jeep purchase I finally have started the install. I have been gathering parts and pieces, even custom fabricating a rear mount. Now putting it all together.

Here is the plan:

CB: Uniden Bearcat 980
CB Mount: Strike Force Zebra and minor modifications to CB bracket
Antenna(s): Wilson 2' & Wilson 5000
Antenna Connection: Spring and Twist off quick disconnect
Antenna Vehicle Mount: Custom bracket off spare tire mount
Power: CirKit Boss®™ Auxiliary Fuse Block/7 Circuits/Weatherproof

Pictures of Install

CB

CB Mount (w/modifications)

Painless Performance mounting location

Power Wire Loom

Power Circuit Install (behind battery tray)

Spare Tire Mounting Bracket

Picture upload pending (they were too big and need to shrink them)

Nice install. Glad to see the custom bracket raise the antenna up high to avoid all the interference with antenna mounts between the spare and tailgate. Did you get the wireless mic? I hope do be doing my install this weekend and have a similar setup but trying out the wireless mic.

Thanks. I have not yet. I am assuming there is more than one available. If anyone has any feedback I would be very interested.

From my research I think there is only one... also believe Uniden has a patent on the frequency so no other brand can currently offer. Makes you wonder why they didn't make a wireless mic sooner? The reviews were very positive so we shall see...

Here is the CB I got Uniden 880

No, I haven't gotten one. Going to stick with the supplied mic for a while. I am looking for someone in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago that has a SWR meter. My radio says I am at 1.0 across all channels which can't be right. Want another meter to compare.
