i've been through all of this already..... so i hope i can answer a couple questions.

first of all, whether or not your jeep came with the fogs, you're gonna have those pins... you can either remove them(which i believe requires a special tool, i couldnt do it myself) or just cut them and splice the stub to the wire harness that comes with the mopar fog lamp kit which quadratec sells for about 130.

this kit includes the stalk, lights, harness, and bulbs.

three more things.

as mentioned, you will have to get your computer flashed, DON"T LET THEM CHARGE YOU FOR MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR.... honestly, they plug in and hit a button and its good.... i got an oil change and the flash done and it was out in 20 minutes.... i tried explaining how ridiculous that was but no dice....

lastly, the wire harness that comes with the kit on quadratec is for a specific bumper apparently....the lengths for the plugs are just long enough for whatever Mopar bumper they're made for, i'm sporting a Rugged Ridge tube bumper so i needed to get an extension to make it to the other fog light. i went the easy route and got the extension but this can easily be done by splicing a little bit extra length on there....

lastly, i definitely reccomend the $20 upgrade bulbs that quadratec sells.... sure theres always those expensive crazy bright ones you could get, but these are definitely an upgrade worth the $40 total for a nice bright upgrade.

any other questions please ask.

Reading this thread has explained to me why I don't see more people adding switches to the blank areas between the buttons on the center area of the dash, near where the hazard signal button is located.

Although that switch assembly seems to come in 2-button, 3-button, and 5 button versions, a Jeeper with a 2-button panel who wanted to add an accessory and control it from a 3-button version would likely also need to get someone to program the ECM, after figuring out which relay is normally controlled by the 3'd switch.

The switch assembly has a PC board in it, so it seems likely that it talks to the ECM over Canbus or something like that, and then the ECM probably triggers a relay.

I'm curious if J-scan would be able to turn on the switch function in the ECM.

This is not like the old-school hardwired switches on my CJs. I now understand why companies sell A-piller switch panels for controlling accessories on Wranglers. Those would seem to make life a lot simpler when adding electrical goodies.
