Are you adding fogs or do you already have them? Take the air dam off.

it didn't come with fog lights stock so I have added the stock bumper with stock fogs, but right now they arent functional. I would love to get them working. I was gonna try to just run a toggle from the stock wiring if it was there. The more i read the more i think im gonna have to do...lol
Thanks!

Default Dealership dead end...

I am having the same problem. The dealership told me if they did it they would just wire it to the battery and run a relay and switch into the cab. I told them I would rather have it work as designed on the stock Rubicons. I even went and bought a new multi-switch for my steering column.

Another dealership told me the wiring harness is there on the X, just behind the headlights but I couldn't find it. They also mentioned that I would need to bring the vehicle in so they can update the vehicle's computer to register the fogs and activate the multi-switch. That part sounds reasonable, but I still couldn't find the wires behind the headlights. I would rather do it myself as I don't want the fogs jury rigged onto a switch.

I am running out of options though.

The wiring harness is not there. You will find a wire loom coming across the front bumper, but this is NOT the foglight wiring! It is the ESP/ABS wire, so don't cut into it.
I like the approach this member took in this thread https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...g+light+wiring . Make your own harness and tap into the side marker as the switch for the relay. This will keep your foglights on even if you're on highbeam.

the way I did it was I went to autozone and got some sockets that fit those H10's or whatever comes stock. I think they were actually for 9005 bulbs, but they work fine. Then I ran a wire from my battery to a fuse to a relay then a wire from the relay to the fogs. I ran a wire from my parking lights to the trigger on the relay. Then I ran a ground to the frame. I wrapped all the wires in plastic wire loom and zip tied it in sections. I took 2 of the weatherproof wire connectors and soldered them on the end and then made up a "harness" with the new sockets and some wire loom and zip ties for the front as well. I put a little elec connector protector on the connector ends and then heat shrinked them after I connected them. I don't have a switch my fogs just come on with the parking lights or head lights. They work of course with the lights on dim or bright.

here is the "harness" I wired up for the lights:

Default I like that idea BigBlueJK

BigBlueJK - I like your idea but I don't know if I would want my fogs on all the time like that. I still wish I could get the information on how to wire it to the Jeep's multi-switch.

I can't believe that with all the experts and mechanics out there that no one has ever come across this problem before and come up with an answer other than to run a relay to a new rocker switch.

If anyone has six degrees of separation with an engineer or designer at Chrysler, I would love to chat with them...

Thanks,

Did you buy the fog installation kit from Mopar? It has the multi-switch, wiring and everything else needed to get you the stock look. It's part #82211870. You can get it at Quadratec or others. You could probably find installation instructions online if you don't want to buy the kit (sounds like you already have some parts).
