Gauge Cluster Mileage Display
Hey guys... a friend of mile was in a horrific accident with his 2011 JK... I need to get power to the cluster to get the mileage for insurance... I have tried hooking my jump pack in place of destroyed battery and even back feeding power thru the cigarette lighter plug but cannot get anything in the vehicle to come alive... I cannot locate a cluster fuse thru my quick research to feel power thru for the mileage to display... nor can I find the cluster pinout to tap into a dash wire to get it to light... hope someone here can offer me some quick guidance...
Thank you in advance... any help is appreciated more than you can know.

Welcome to JKF. Friend, are they OK? The mileage is retained on the Body Computer and displayed on the Dash; as you noted a horrific accident could have created issues with the wiring between the Body computer and the dash. He might check the last business to service the rig and get that mileage that will provide a date and miles.
Thank you very much for your reply. My friend after spending five weeks in the hospital is finally back home. Generally speaking he will be OK but still has a long road ahead of him.
that’s good information to know so just powering up the cluster will get me no place. Saves me some headache. Do you know roughly where that module is on the vehicle? I hope to be able to get the hood open tomorrow and do some investigating. The vehicle sustained incredibly heavy damage though.
as far as the last shop to service it… That was six months prior to the accident and insurance said that is too far in the past. The Jeep has 115,000 miles on it. The Shop paperwork indicated 110,000 and now they want to write it off as having 160,000. It’s crazy. That’s a $4k difference in the buyout.
