Default Ham Radio

WooHoo I passed the Technician exam tonight!

I can now look at buying a Ham radio.

There is no longer a requirement to learn morse code.

Congratulation! I got my no code tech ticket back when that came out. Now that they dropped the code all together I need to upgrade; that and get around to installing some radios in the Jeep. If your looking for a used rig and don't want to wait around for a hamfest there are always a lot of radios on ebay. I've started shopping around there for an HF rig, anticipating my upgrade.

Sam, Congratulations on your ticket! You picked a super transceiver for your Jeep. I also own one and they are great. I doubt that you will ever regret buying it. Take care...

Good for you! Try to upgrade as it gives you more frequency choices. I got my ham ticket a few years ago when they required 13 wpm. Was working on the 20 wpm when they changed the rules to only require 13 wpm. Then went to 5 wpm and now no morse requirement.

Congratulations on the new license! Ham Rado has provided me with years of enjoyment. Will I see you and your JK at the Dayton Hamvention in May?

Good Job! Ham radio is just another good excuse to add more goodies to the Jeep!

I wont be in Dayton in person ;-)

I'm working on the General class now, I should be ready for the test by next month some time. I'll then think about getting a base station and start putting together my shack.
