Default Hardtop on, now headunit fuse keeps blowing

Last week I pulled in my garage left it on accessory so I could listen to music while working. Took the softtop off and waited on my roommate to get off and help me put the hardtop on. Well he took longer to get home than i had expected and I drained my battery. So we jumped it off of his Corvette and let it run. Well everything was fine except the headunit would not do anything. I checked and changed the fuse and everything was fine for the next 4 days. I went out to my JK one morning this past week and the headunit won't respond again. After work I changed the fuse but it blew as soon as I changed it. I thought i had done something wrong and tried another one. Same thing. The only electrical I have done lately is plug my wiper/defroster in for my hardtop. So I unplugged it and tried a new fuse with the same result. Anybody have any other ideas? Maybe I need to pull the headunit out and check the wires. Thanks for the help.

Double check the Connector and harness where you connected it to the Hard Top in back. There is a secret feature that controls volume when Hard Top is removed. You could have a bent pin or two pins making contact that shouldn't....

Good Luck

Or, if the soft top/topless mod was done, it may be shorting out on the jumper

Sorry for the delay in response. I never did the jumper mod, so that can't be it. I pulled the fuse a couple of weekends ago and checked the resistance where the fuse plugs in and found that there was a ground somewhere. I pulled the headunit out and also took the Lockpick out and the headunit worked fine. So I examined the Lockpick and found where one of the wires had started showing. A couple of days later the headunit stopped working. The next morning when I got in to head to work, it worked. But on the way home it went off. Then the next morning it was back on. Now it hasn't worked in a few days. I pulled the headunit out tonight and tried my non-nav headunit. Neither of them work. So it is not getting power or ground. Any ideas on this now?? Thanks for the help.
