Default Hardtop wiring Harness

I have purchased a hardtop and a Mopar hardtop wiring harness. While the product is fine, the instructions suck!!! Can anyone give advice on how to disengage the existing wire in the plug behind the instrument cluster. I have completed the rewiring under the hood and those plugs were a breeze compared to this one. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you take a pic of it? I did mine and do not remember having any problems with it.
A picture might spark my memory.

If I remember correctly. Look a pic 002. The white part of the harness should pull away from the plug about 1/8" then you will need to use a precision size screwdriver to reach into the hole to push in on the catch holding the wire you are trying to remove. Try pushing the wire a little further into the plug while trying to release the catch. The pain is trying to use the screwdriver while also pulling on the wire. Once you get the wire removed snap the white cover back down, then insert the new wire until you feel it click in.

Yes it is true. After installing the harness I tried the rear wiper, defrost, and washer just to check and none of them would work. $40 later and a flash all 3 working like they should.

I ordered the harness from my dealer and got them to quote the flash at the same time. I assume they would have charged me more if I got the harness somewhere else. Installing the harness is easy. Removing the existing wires is the pain. The plugs have saftey catches that hold the wires (see post 4 and the pic in 3). Once you figure them out it is pretty easy.

Thanks Doc307 for the info. After using everything I could think of to stick into the plug, a large safety pin did the trick. I just finished the install tonite. Everything works except the rear window defroster won't stay on. Other posts on the forum say this is how it should be until the flash. Going to dealer tomorrow. $90 in my neck of the woods. Dealers can't see their customers for the $$$$$. Thanks again for the help.
