Default hardwire air compressor cables??

not sure why i wanna do this but---

i've got a portable Viair air compressor that attatches to the battery with 2 clips. wondering if i hard wire a positive & negative to the battery and put some sort of ruberized weather proof quick connects, then put another quick connect on the air compressor..

just looking to make a more solid connection for my air compressor with a longer cord..

my neighbor did something similar with jumper cables. he put the quick connect near the front grill of his F250--he said tow trucks do this..

Not a problem, it's as easy as it sounds. I'd put a fuse on the positive side in case the cable ever decides to short to ground.
