Default harness for aftermarket deck

Going to be installing an aftermarket deck soon and iv been told i need this fancy harness with the PAC to do so.

im going to be taking all the factory stuff out and installing all new speakers the deck and installing a sub. I know where to get power, ground, and the acc power to still have the auto shut off work. so do i really need this harness? what will i lose if i dont use the harness and what problems will i run into?

its a 2010 sport, base model. no steering wheel controls or nav

If your not keeping any of the original equipment (amp, speakers etc) just grab the - Metra/ Axxess XSVI-6522-NAV - it has the can bus interface for all your power needs (constant, switched & ground) as well as all your speaker connections and pretty reasonably price between $50- $80 depending on were you get it..

you can sometimes find them on ebay for even less than $50

You can wire the new unit without the harness. You will have a code regarding the missing radio in the diagnostics. And you will loose the delayed OFF function. But it will function like any normal old school radio.

Well the switched power i was just going to get from the cig lighter socket cause it works with the delayed power off or off when doors open from what iv read.

So there is no issues from not using this harness, just cleaner and easier for install?

Code for missing head unit, like CEL on or just a code that will be stored in the system and no light on?

No Light. Just a code that will be there anytime it is read.
